Hot Dog! "Fridge" in Coney Island Contest

Former Chicago Bears defensive tackle William "The Refrigerator" Perry may have found his second calling when he qualified for the annual Coney Island hot dog eating contest by eating 12 franks in 12 minutes. He'll have to step up his performance though if he wishes to unseat current champion Takeru Kobayashi who ate 50-and-a-half hot dogs in the same amount of time.

Perhaps the most amazing part of this story is the difference in size between the two "athletes". Kobayashi weighs in at a slight 130lbs, while the Fridge is estimated to weigh somewhere over the 400lb mark. My advice to the defending champ... don't show up dressed as a hot dog!
