Bon Jovi Eyeing AFL Expansion
Friday June 27, 2003
According to Mike Bruton of the "Philadelphia Inquirer", rock star Jon Bon Jovi may be the owner of an expansion Arena Football League team in Philadelphia in the near future. The league neither confirmed or denied the report, but ESPN football analyst Ron Jaworski, often associated with the push to bring a team to The City of Brotherly Love, confirmed there was interest.
Jaworski told the Inquirer, "That's totally correct. I have spoken to Jon Bon Jovi's group. My involvement at this time is not clear."
Bruton also reports Bon Jovi has been hanging with AFL bigwigs like John Elway, asking a lot of questions about running a team.
