Bucs Pick "Booger" over Sapp?
Friday June 27, 2003
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be making a serious effort to sign defensive tackle Anthony "Booger" McFarland to a contract extension before training camp opens on July 18th. This could be a signal that Warren Sapp's days in a Bucs uniform are numbered unless he lowers his contract demands significantly.
Many people around the league think McFarland is already better than the 31-year-old Sapp, who is in the final year of his contract. And it's doubtful the Bucs brass would be willing to shell out big coin to a guy who could very likely be on the downside of his career.
