Interest Builds in RB Hollings
Wednesday July 2, 2003
Despite playing just four games at running back his entire college career, interest in Tony Hollings continues to grow. "The Dallas Morning News" reports there were nearly 20 teams in Atlanta on Tuesday to see the workout of the former Georgia Tech ball carrier. Hollings was leading the nation in rushing when he was injured at the end of a contest against BYU, four games into the 2002 season, and is the top prospect in this year's supplemental draft.
I originally felt no team would give up more than a sixth- or seventh-round pick to grab a guy who has only carried the ball in four games and is coming off a knee injury, but evidence is mounting to the contrary. I still have a hard time believing any NFL club would take a chance on him as early as the fourth.
