Johnson's Retirement Off, Then On, Then Off Again
Tuesday July 22, 2003
After going AWOL from a mini-camp 12 days ago, nose tackle Ellis Johnson told the Atlanta Falcons that he intended to report to training camp when it opens in Greenville, S.C., on Friday. Late Monday, according to "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution", he told an acquaintance that he had changed his mind again and was going to retire rather than report.
Johnson changed his mind again late Tuesday and called Atlanta vice president of football operations Ron Hill and said he will report to training camp.
At what point do the Falcons decide this guy just doesn't have the motivation to play anymore? Discuss it on the forum...
