Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett told ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit on Thursday that he does not intend to challenge the NFL's eligibility rules. He said he simply wants a quick resolution to the NCAA investigation so that he can rejoin his Buckeye teammates.
Clarett is currently being investigated by the NCAA in connection with an incident in which he allegedly overstated the value of items stolen from a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was broken into while on overnight loan from a car dealership. He is also being investigated by the university for his academic performance and whether he received special considerations when he was allowed to take oral exams to pass a basic African-American studies course.
