Carolina Panthers linebacker Mark Fields has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease and will miss the entire season, reports the Associated Press. Doctors detected the disease Thursday after Fields was hospitalized when a cut on his thumb became infected and didn't heal. He began chemotherapy Saturday.
Fields should be released from the hospital later this week and will continue chemotherapy on an outpatient basis for the next several months.
