Bailey to Reject Redskins' Offer
Wednesday August 20, 2003
The Washington Post is reporting that cornerback Champ Bailey is going to reject the Washington Redskins' opening contract offer, a nine-year proposal worth about $55 million. Bailey is in the final year of his contract, and says he will suspend negotiations if an extension is not signed by September 4th.
If an agreement cannot be reached, look for Daniel Snyder and company to slap the franchise-player tag on Bailey to keep him with the club next year.
