Expect Pace to Sign with Rams Soon
Thursday August 21, 2003
In an interview by Sporting News Radio's James Brown, St. Louis Rams holdout left tackle Orlando Pace was asked if he would sit out the season if a long-term deal could not be reached.
"I don't think so", said Pace, "I like to play and I'm anxious to get in there right now. I don't know if I'll sit out the season, I don't think I will. I think I am going to get in there and play the one-year deal and see what happens next year."
The one-year deal he is referring to is the one-year franchise player tender of $5.73 million the Rams have offered, but it's not the long-term contract that Pace and his agent Carl Poston are seeking.
