Raiders Get Partial Victory in Court Case
Tuesday August 26, 2003
According to Associated Press reports, the Oakland Raiders have been awarded $34.2 million in a partial victory in court Tuesday. A jury of nine women and three men found Oakland coliseum officials negligent when negotiating to bring the team back from Los Angeles by promising a sold-out stadium. The verdict was far less than the $570 million to $833 million owner Al Davis sought to compensate for low ticket sales and the declining value of the franchise.
