Manning No. 1? Not So Fast!
Friday December 5, 2003
If you have Mississippi quarterback Eli Manning penciled into your mock draft as this year's top quarterback, you're not alone. But after Ben Roethlisberger put on a nearly perfect performance Thursday evening to lead Miami of Ohio to its first Mid-American Conference title in 17 years, Manning is no longer the clear-cut favorite. He may still be the favorite on most boards, but Roethlisberger has propelled himself into a potential top-10 selection in the 2004 draft.
At this time, Roethlisberger is saying nothing about his intentions for 2004, but it is believed he will make himself available for the draft after Miami's date with Louisville in the GMAC Bowl on December 18th.
