Skins Closing in on Brunell?
Sunday February 8, 2004
ESPN's Len Pasquarelli is reporting that the Washington Redskins are close to an agreement with the Jacksonville Jaguars to aquire veteran quarterback Mark Brunell. Terms of the deal, which can't be officially completed until March 4th, were not confirmed by Pasquarelli's sources with the team, but there is speculation that the Redskins are willing to sacrifice a second-round pick in this year's NFL Draft.
Head coach Joe Gibbs will reportedly meet with the 33-year-old Brunell on Monday in Florida.
The move would likely relegate incumbent starter Patrick Ramsey to the bench for at least the beginning of the 2004 season, leaving his future with the team in question.
