Who Am I?

I own the distinction of never having a losing season in 12 years as a head coach in the NFL. And I am credited with turning around the Los Angeles Rams, a perennial loser before I took over in 1966. Later, I performed the same magic on the Washington Redskins, a team that had just one winning season in the 15 years prior to my arrival.
I started my coaching career at Morningside College in 1948 before leaving for Whittier College in 1951, where I spent the next six years. I made my NFL debut with the Rams in 1957, and a year later was hired by the Chicago Bears as a defensive assistant. Who am I?
