Patriots' Bruschi Suffers Stroke

Thursday February 17, 2005
The Associated Press has confirmed that New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi suffered a mild stroke Wednesday. The nine-year NFL veteran was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after complaining of headaches just days after making his first appearance at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

Reports indicate Bruschi also suffered blurred vision and temporary numbness. At this time, there has been no indication of how, or if this will affect the 31-year-old linebackers football career, but he is said to be in good condition and has been up walking and talking since being admitted to the exclusive Phillips House at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Bruschi was a key contributor in the Patriots Super Bowl victory less than two weeks ago, making seven tackles and coming up with a big fourth-quarter interception to help hold off the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-21.
