With Kurt Warner on the shelf for as long as a month, the Arizona Cardinals have come to terms with former Patriots' backup Rohan Davey says ESPN's Len Pasquarelli. Can you say 3-13? Looks like a Matt Leinart or Reggie Bush could be in this team's not-so-distant future.

Despite giving up just one touchdown in 12 quarters and limiting each of their opponents to single digits, Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy told the Tribune Star the defense is not playing as consistently as it should. But that's something Tony should be used to based on the performance of the Colts' defense in previous years under his regime. At least they don't suck again this year.

From the does-anyone-really-care file, the ceremony to retire David Carr's Fresno State football jersey has been postponed indefinitely because of Hurricane Rita says the Fresno Bee.

How desperate for a quarterback are the New York Jets after losing both their starter and backup Sunday? AP reports say they've agreed to terms with former Jets QB Vinny "Gramps" Testeverde who last proved he couldn't play in Dallas. Looks like he'll get a chance to prove it again this year.

The Cowboys are concerned (as they should be) about the disappointing play of cornerback Anthony Henry says the Star-Telegram.

News on the injury front went from bad to worse for the New England Patriots. The Boston Herald reports left tackle Matt Light suffered a broken bone below his left knee and will likely be replaced by rookie Nick Kaczur. This team's depth is going to be seriously tested this year, and Light's loss could be as critical as Rodney Harrison's.
