Have you ever come out of your fantasy draft with a stacked lineup you're sure will lead you to the promised land only to have a key player or two sputter and spurt out of the gate as your team drops its first three or four games? Fantasy writer Kevin Mowrer calls those players gold diggers because they cost far more than they are worth in spent draft picks or salary cap.
Based on where he was drafted in most fantasy leagues, Peyton Manning could be classified as a gold digger having thrown just two touchdown passes in the first three weeks. This guy's going to bury a lot of fantasy teams before they even get started if he doesn't turn on the Manning magic immediately.
