George Solomon of the Washington Post calls Redskins fans' behavior "bush league" for cheering too loudly during their week-one contest with the Bears, making it difficult for Chicago to communicate on offense. (Next week he's writing a column in protest of Santana Moss running too fast against the Cowboys in week two.)

Detroit Lions cornerback Fernando Bryant has been placed on injured reserve.

The Tennessee Titans, according to AP reports, have promoted quarterback Matt Mauck to the 53-man roster from their practice squad to keep the New York Jets from getting their grubby paws on him.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Rashaun Woods inched even closer to bust status with his move to injured reserve Tuesday.

Apparently, says the Associated Press, Kansas City head coach Dick Vermeil is miffed at the Broncos' Champ Bailey because of comments made during the game questioning the Chiefs' intensity.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Len Pasquarelli cite sources as saying that orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews has informed New York Jets officials and Chad Pennington that the quarterback may not have suffered a torn rotator cuff. Regardless, he is still most likely done for the season.

Arizona Cardinals starting defensive tackle Russell Davis has been placed on injured reserve with a bicep injury.
