White, Aikman Headline 2006 Nominees

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has released the preliminary list of nominees for induction in 2006, and the list is headlined by defensive end Reggie White and quarterback Troy Aikman.
In November, the list will be cut to 25 semi-finalists before being reduced to 13 by mail-in ballot. Two senior nominees will also be placed on the list, making 15 total Hall of Fame finalists. John Madden, who coached the Oakland Raiders from 1969-1978, and Rayfield Wright, a tackle with the Dallas Cowboys, 1967-1979 have already been named as this year's two senior candidates.
