Moulds Traded to Texans

Tuesday April 4, 2006
The Houston Texans continued a strong offseason Tuesday with the acquisition of wide receiver Eric Moulds from the Buffalo Bills for what is believed to be either a fourth or fifth-round pick in this year's NFL Draft. Per ESPN's John Clayton, the team also reached an agreement with Moulds on a four-year, $14 million contract that includes a $5 million signing bonus.

Paired with Andre Johnson, who has the potential to be an elite receiver, the Texans have put together a formidable duo on the outside. And with the potential addition of running back Reggie Bush, who can line up in the backfield or in the slot, Houston has the makings of an offense that could develop into an explosive unit in the near future.

The key, however, remains the condition of the offensive line. If they hold up, the Texans could be among the most improved teams in the league. On paper, they already look better with the additions of former Packers center Mike Flanagan and guard David Loverne from the Lions. I'd also expect the team to add some talent later this month in the draft. A massive left tackle like Auburn's Marcus McNeil should be available when they pick in the second round.
