NFL Draft Schedule and Tickets

Friday April 21, 2006
For those of you thinking about attending the NFL Draft in person, the NFL has finally released information on how to obtain tickets to this year's event. As in the past, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the box office on the day of the draft. However, local ordinances prohibit lining up on the sidewalks directly in front of or around Radio City Music Hall. Fans may line up on the morning of the NFL Draft at the direction of Radio City personnel. Fan entry will take place at the "Carriage Door Entrance" located on 50th street between 5th and 6th avenues. Doors will open at 11 a.m..

For those of you not attending in person, About Football provides a schedule and details of the big weekend. Read more...

January 28, 2007 at 8:27 am
(13) Franco says:

My buddy and I went to the draft last year in NYC and while the excitement of the fants is terrific, and the atmosphere is fun…the NFL does an absolutely terrible job of making this event “fan friendly”. The NFL does gives out about 35 % of the tickets to the media/ corporate sponsors before the event, leaving 65 % for the true fans. Last year the NFL claimed that tickets would not be dispersed until 9:00AM…well people were lined up at 3:00AM in the morning and guess what ….the NFL gave those fans tickets ! There were thousands of people there, way too many to fit in Radio City Music Hall. And if the draft starts at 12:00,and they don’t let you in til 11:00, then you wait in line hoping to get in, find out you won’t ( after the draft starts ) and are left scrambling to find a place to watch the draft. My advice ? If you’ve never gone, and are a true fan, it’s worth the experience…just be prepared to wait in line (i.e. bring your laptop, a good book, and be prepared for the weather ).

January 28, 2007 at 11:09 am
(14) Jason says:

Franco, if you have tickets in advance, are you guaranteed entry??

January 29, 2007 at 5:18 pm
(15) John says:

As I noted above, my brother, father and I are flying in from Denver and would love to buy draft tix before we get out there…let me know. john.gaddis@gmail.com
Thanks!!!

(16) Paul says:

I am also interested. Email me at pingratta@yahoo.com. We can discuss details then. Thanks

February 9, 2007 at 9:32 am
(17) Jim says:

To those who have been to the draft before, do they sell beer there?

February 13, 2007 at 2:00 am
(18) Dave says:

If anyone has tickets and is considering selling them please email me at Dave@theraidercast.com thanks…

February 14, 2007 at 4:11 pm
(19) Heath says:

I attend the draft every year and basically the way it works is that, you stand in line and hope you get a ticket.

Once you have a ticket, you are required to attend both days from beginning to end. At the end of the second day when the third string QB from Cal Poly Tech is drafted, you hand your application to an NFL suit on the way out (they hand out the apps in the middle of the second day). You are then automatically guaranteed a ticket the following year. About a month prior to the Draft you get an acceptance letter in the mail which you have to send back saying that you will attend. It is at this time that you have to send it in with your friends acceptance letter that you are requesting to sit next to each other. Yes it is assigned seating. Now you will receive your tickets in the mail about 2 days before you are actually ready to fly out. Of course you can’t sleep at night waiting on this ticket to arrive in your mailbox.

So the long and short is, if you can put your time in the first year it’s smooth sailing from there on out.

P.S. Apply for a 2nd mortgage loan to cover the cost of the hot dogs and cokes that they sell. All kidding aside, it truly is a great experience!

February 14, 2007 at 4:12 pm
(20) Heath says:

Ohhh. No beer. Only soda.

February 15, 2007 at 4:53 pm
(21) alex says:

how much are tickets if you get them t the box office?

February 16, 2007 at 9:49 am
(22) Dave says:

This is madness. There could be considerable money to be made selling tix, maybe having VIP boxes and all that stuff along with merchandise, etc. To hear it’s some cheesy thing with people lining up at 3am with no way to secure tickets in advance is awful. I couldn’t imagine traveling cross country to go to this and then not getting a ticket and having to find a bar to watch it on tv. Madness.

February 16, 2007 at 11:35 am
(23) Chris says:

Hi Heath, I will be attending this year and i was wondering, do they serve food as well? What kind of prices were they charging last year for food and drink? Thanks.

February 18, 2007 at 1:45 pm
(24) Joe says:

Does anybody know what hotel the players and invitees stay at in nyc???

March 1, 2007 at 5:29 pm
(25) Joe Joe says:

The players stay at the Holiday Inn, 725 5th Avenue

March 4, 2007 at 1:35 pm
(26) Brian says:

If anyone has tickets I will pay any price. Let me know.

March 12, 2007 at 1:07 pm
(27) tj says:

be a real fan and camp out the night before the draft.. Tickets are free if you can man up and wait out the night before where they hand out tickets. Ive done it for the last 5 years.

March 12, 2007 at 2:30 pm
(28) spencer says:

I went last year and there was mad confusion on when the tickets were going to be given out. Eventually, they gave out vouchers at the stroke of midnight and then we were able to go home. The seating was based on when you turned in your voucher for a ticket that morning. Basically, if you haven’t gone before, go out Friday night for a drink somewhere and then stop by the Radio City Music Hall at about 12:45am. They give the tickets to those in line, but there wasn’t 3000 people in line, so the rest given on a first-come first-serve basis.

March 15, 2007 at 7:04 pm
(29) Kosuke Fujita says:

Unfortunatly, I have my school finals on monday so I am willing to sell my ticket. If your interested, shoot me an e-mail @ kfujita31@hotmail.com

(34) Cesar says:

http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/10078247

theres the link guys for the draft. now here’s the intruiging question………are they telling the truth? for those of u who recall, last year they said they would disperse tickets at 9am and that was in fact not true. therefore, do we go at 5am to get tickets or go like 11/12 and just camp out for the night……

April 1, 2007 at 3:07 pm
(35) john g says:

i once dropped off an attending friend one year at about 12 at night, he said something about getting in line to get bracelets which then let you get in line for tickets in the early morning, can somebody who has gone tell me if this is true, and by the way, what are the chances that you wont get in, if you camp out?

April 3, 2007 at 2:24 pm
(36) Cesar says:

yeah thats true. last year they gave out bracelets and you got a ticket the next morning if you had one……..they gave them out sometime after midnight. even though they said tickets wouldnt be released til 9am the day of the draft. so who’s going to camp out along with me? lol btw, go broncos!

April 5, 2007 at 4:37 pm
(37) noah h says:

is it possible to get tickets if you don’t camp out, like how early do u think u wud have to get there

April 6, 2007 at 5:27 pm
(38) Max G says:

I’m hearing midnight and then the NFL says 5 am, who out there really knows what is going on?

April 7, 2007 at 1:21 pm
(39) Cesar says:

K final time….I went to the draft last year and got there like 8am and stood in line to get a ticket. They said they were giving out tickets at 9am last year. I stayed there all morning til after the draft started and never got one. Instead I had to rush to ESPN Sportzone to watch the draft there. I ended up hearing afterwards that the free tickets were given out between midnight and 3am last year instead. Any tickets that were left over were given out the next morning at 9am, which was ridiciously low. And I was standing right across RCMH in line and still didnt get one so u get an idea of how many were left. Now this year, they’re saying that tickets will be given out at 6am. So question is……when do we line up…at 5am like nfl.com says or camp out overnight like the people last yr did. Cuz apparently last year was bs and clearly I do not want a repeat this year. Therefore, I for one, will be camping at friday night at 10/11pm and just wait the whole night until I get a ticket to avoid not going. So who;s with me? lol

April 8, 2007 at 6:03 pm
(40) KF says:

Cesar, keep in mind that there will not be as many people there because the New York teams don’t have a good pick like last year where the Jets had the 4th pick.

April 8, 2007 at 9:40 pm
(41) jake says:

Just be a high roller and buy the VIP passes

April 9, 2007 at 8:23 am
(42) Cesar says:

Lol. I remember that pick, man people booed a lot at the Sportzone. Anyway, yeah I guess that might be true. However, I’ll still camp out night before. I can study for finals there when it starts to get boring lol.

April 10, 2007 at 1:21 am
(43) alex says:

do you have to be a certain age to go? I’m 15 but my friends 16 and where from jersey so where just going to camp out there all night. I was wondering if there’s a lot of people there and if people throw like parties in the middle of the street or something(I heard that from someone but I’m not sure if its true)?

April 10, 2007 at 8:07 am
(44) Cesar says:

No you don’t have to be a certain age to go because I saw younger people that were standing in line last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did have parties though considering theres nothing else to do over night…Only 3 more weeks to go

April 14, 2007 at 2:34 am
(45) dylan says:

do you need to be 21? i really want to go this year and i’m only 15. email me @ whitemudd423@aol.com if you know.

For all of you hardcore, loyal football fans listen up……….i went to the draft last year (got there at 12) and camped out all night. They started to give the tickets out at 6/630 am…..and we were told to come back at 1030 to start line up. This year the draft starts at 3pm instead of 12pm. Therefore, my question is, when should we start lining up for tickets??? Does anyone know or have an idea? And no, don’t give me ticketmaster info. Any information you find other than mine is bs……you have to camp out to get the free tickets. It’s now a matter of what time to get there?

I went a few years back and they gave most of the tickets out the night before despite the posted policy.
