Hester Makes Video Game History

Have the programmers at EA Sports gone nuts? Is Chicago Bears return specialist/cornerback/wide receiver Devin Hester in position to set the video football industry on its ear?

Per a report on ESPN.com Thursday, the creators of Madden '08 are making Hester the first player in the history of the Madden series to garner a perfect 100 score in one of the game's skill ratings. With players like Deion Sanders and Randy Moss previously pulling a 99 in the game's speed category, Hester has been handed the ultimate honor, making him the fastest player in Madden history.

It's blasphemy, I tell you!

Neon Deion, who coincidently serves as a mentor to Hester, was once clocked at 4.19 in the 40-yard dash. If the makers of Madden didn't see fit to give Sanders the "Holy Grail of Hightail" -- the "Heisman of Hurry", if you will -- then they shouldn't have given it to the "Windy City Flyer".

The world of video football may never be the same. Not that it really matters.
