Cheap Shots

Saturday April 14, 2007
The Lions, who traded away quarterback Joey Harrington for very little and cut receiver Charles Rogers within the last year, are on the verge of cutting another failed top-10 draft pick. And amazingly, Matt Millen still has a job.

Speaking of Charles Rogers, the former first-round bust has had numerous workouts with other NFL teams, but has yet to receive as much as a contract offer from anyone in the year since he was released by the Lions. Rumor has it he ran a 4.8 40-yard dash during a workout for the Chiefs in January.

Speaking of first-round busts, former Texans QB David Carr, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, is letting everyone know his failures in Houston were everyone else's fault.

As expected, the Broncos have released five-time Pro Bowl linebacker Al Wilson.

If your boss accidentally overpaid you, don't you think you would notice an extra $3 million in your paycheck? Not Brian Westbrook.

Might political ads be a big part of the Super Bowl XLII intermissions?
