Pacman Loves His Strip Clubs, Police Want Answers Again

Monday June 18, 2007
Just days ago, Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones announced his decision to drop the appeal of his one-year suspension. And at the time, we talked about the possibility that he might finally be wising up and accepting some responsibility for the position he's in (or at least putting forth the appearance he is cleaning up his life for the benefit of Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has the power to reduce his sentence to just ten games). But we have to wonder what the Commish is thinking this morning as reports surfaced from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Jones is wanted for questioning in another shooting, which occurred early Monday in DeKalb County at (you guessed it) a strip club.

A follow-up report by the Associated Press indicates police believe Jones was not present when the shots were fired, but they apparently have reason to believe the attack stemmed from a fight over a woman between Jones, his entourage and three other people.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured this time around, and the fact that he may not have been involved in any gunplay here is good. But Jones' mere presence at a strip club, along with his alleged involvement in yet another fight at such an establishment shows that he has little-to-no intention of changing his thuggish ways. The fact that he was at the strip club to begin with should be enough to cancel any chance he had of having his suspension reduced. And if it's proven that Jones had any involvement whatsoever in the fight, even if he had nothing to do with the shots fired, it's time for Goodell to rid the league of him permanently!

AMEN to the lifetime ban. The NFL is a big business with enormous influence over young people who – rightly or wrongly – look at pro athletes as role models. It is about the future of the league and those who follow it – not only the bottom line!

Pacman must have a football death wish. I agree that he should be expelled from the league.

Wow! This guy definitely needs to find some other way to spend his free time. He could travel or find another recreation avenue besides hanging out in these raunchy places.
