Charges Filed Against Pacman in Vegas Shooting
and there seems to be a significant chance we will never see the guy in an NFL uniform again.
On Monday, word broke of his potential involvement in yet another shooting at another strip club. Then on Wednesday, long-awaited charges were finally filed by Las Vegas police against the troubled Tennessee Titans defender in connection with the first shooting incident.
Per the Nashville Tennessean, two felony charges have been filed against Jones in the February shooting at the Minxx club in Las Vegas that left one man paralyzed. Jones is being charged with two counts of felony coercion. Robert "Big Rob" Reid and Sadia Morrison, both members of Jones' entourage, have also been charged in the case. Reid is charged with one count of felony coercion and Morrison is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, and burglary.
Titans head coach Jeff Fisher seems ready to wash his hands of the whole situation. Informed that Jones had been charged, Fisher told the Tennessean:
"...these are his issues. We have moved on and we will continue to move on. … As far as I am concerned it’s no longer our business. Those are his issues and he has to deal with the commissioner’s rules and we have moved on. ... From a personal standpoint you wish him the best, but from a professional standpoint he certainly let us down so we have moved on. ... I don’t have any expectation to talk to him."At this point, there's really not much more the Titans can do than to plan for life without Jones. Obviously he is gone for this year at a minimum. And based on Fisher's comments, it's probably a huge longshot that he ever takes the field for the Titans again. It seems his most likely landing spot at this time is a roster spot on the Mean Machine down at the state pen.
