Might the IRS Get Involved in Vick Case?
It's no secret gambling is taboo for NFL players.
And Commissioner Roger Goodell won't look favorably on Vick if there is strong evidence that he, in fact, was in the habit of gambling large sums of money on any sport regardless of whether the activity in question was dog fighting or match-stick stacking. Of course, the fact that dog fighting is the focus of these alleged wagers makes it exponentially worse.
As this case unfolds, it won't be at all surprising if the IRS starts poking around Vick's tax returns to see if he claimed any gambling winnings as income in recent years to go along with the salary he collected from the Atlanta Falcons. Since he most likely would be hesitant to report income from an illegal dog-fighting operation, I'm guessing he didn't, which could cause him a whole lot of problems down the road.

I have a feeling the July 17th indictment is simply the tip of the iceberg. A conspiracy charge allows for more charges to be brought later.
The IRS takes tax evasion rather seriously and I think eventually they will get involved.
Vick is in for a mountain of trouble. Surry County hasn’t even charged him for animal cruelty yet.
I think it’s unfair that you say “vicious pitbull.” Dogs are the way they are because of owners, and not all pitbulls are “vicious.”
I’m not at all trying to imply that all Pit Bulls are vicious, John. But you have to admit the one in the picture I was referring to looks somewhat vicious.
How wonderful you brought this to the publics attention! Speaking of Pit Bulls and the IRS in the same sentence is pure genius. May Vick have the IRS attack him as viciously as one of his “winning” dogs.
The Breed…and the people that put them in the ring should be eradicated
I hope Vick goes to jail…he’s a dirtbag.
Ms. Mcgee, you can’t be serious. You would eradicate all pit bulls? That is a little extreme. I think it’s high time we make irresponsible dog owners accountable for their dangerous behavior. Any dog can be trained to fight and any dog can be trained NOT to fight. It’s people who are the problem not the dogs.
Yep, just like the sports reporter to defend Vick because if he does not, he will never get a story from Vick.
Besides, I did not know if dog fighting is a, “sport”.
We have fanstay football, fanstay baseball. How about a little reality now and then like, The Vick dog fighting game.
Pit Bulls are abused and made to live through the most horrifying training to become a fighting dog while those who didn’t fight as hard are killed or only used for breeding purposes. The pain these dogs are forced to endure is sickening and frightening. I don’t think the public truly knows what these poor animals are having to go through just to live another day. They fight because they think if they make thier owner happy then they’ll be rewarded and not be abused. If the dog loses his fight then they drown, hang, or shoot the helpless dog. It’s a no win situation for the Pit Bull. The Pit Bulls are what this case should be about, don’t get distracted by racial issues, after all it’s the dogs that deserve some light they’ve suffered enough. Let America see what the Pit Bulls have been victims to, then maybe society will cut them some slack and be nice to them for once. I’m sick of lying about what kind of dog I own because I’m tired of people thinking I’m a drug dealer or dog fighter because I have two Pit Bulls. It’s time for everyone to learn what Pit Bulls having been going through for the past 30yrs.
If he wasn’t black U would’nt be so concerned!
waz UP Vick
