New York Giants 2007 Preview

If there was a team that died a slow death in 2006, it was the New York Giants. Their season began so promising, but a second-half collapse -- fueled somewhat by injuries -- left a bad taste in the mouths of many. Along with any disappointment of this magnitude comes added pressure the following year, and there's certainly plenty of pressure to go around for this squad.

Tom Coughlin is a lame-duck coach who most likely will need more than just a simple playoff appearance to save his job. Brandon Jacobs is expected to fill the shoes vacated by running back Tiki Barber's retirement. And quarterback Eli Manning really needs to show that the 2004 draft-day trade with San Diego wasn't quite so lopsided in favor of the Chargers.
