Falcons Harrington's Team Now?
an unprecedented move for the league. But in all reality, it's probably just the tip of the iceberg. Which could mean the Atlanta Falcons could be in the hands of Joey Harrington for the 2007 season. A scary thought for some, I know.
There's been some talk that the Falcons are interested in the services of veteran Daunte Culpepper, but his health is such a concern that even if he is brought in, there's no guarantee he'll be ready to play any time in 2007. So, unless a different light is shed on this case soon in the form of evidence that exonerates Vick, Harrington is your guy Falcons fans.
But it might not be as horrible as it sounds.
Harrington never lived up to his draft billing, certainly, but keep in mind he was with the Detroit Lions, who have perennially fielded talent-challenged teams during GM Matt Millen's tenure. Who knows what the guy might do in an offense that features a potent running game and offensive linemen who can actually, you know, block someone.
I'm not saying that he's suddenly going to turn his career around and become a superstar. And I wouldn't expect Harrington to lead the Falcons to the Super Bowl anytime soon. (For what it's worth, I didn't think Vick was going to get them there anytime soon either.) But the team, this season, could still compete for a playoff berth.
As for how this affects the fantasy realm, we're kind of holding serve with Harrington now on our 2007 cheat sheets, waiting to get a better indication of what type of playing time he will get this year. But he stands to move way up the rankings if he indeed is pushed into a starting role.
As for Vick, we've wiped him completely off our board and wouldn't touch him with a ten-dog rape stand.

DJ Shockley is a possibility also
considering Vick wouldn’t have gotten the Falcons to the superbowl. Detroit is a joke (before Harrington and after) and he won with a crap team like Miami - We don’t know how good Harrington is and this may be a blessing in disguise for Falcon Fan!!! DJ Shockley = Uh… No! Joey with an actual running game, mix in a receiver and it’s looking good!
Good Point! Joey is a hidden GEM! Give the guy half a chance with an average team or better and Harrington’s a WINNER! Remember, Joey was Oregon’s QB when they were cheated out of the NC Game in favor of an outmatched Nebraska team Vs. Miami and Joey’s Ducks hammered a hot Colorado team. He also beat Texas in the Holiday Bowl the year before.
I’d take Joey over the group of QB’s we have. Russell may be the exception but has to get into camp. Culpepper = NO! McCown = fun to watch but NO! Walter = could be good but ?
harrington will do well in the atl, but he needs to be more consistent, he won five in a row in miami (by the way raider fan, who the hell are u 2 be talking about a crap team, did anybody say 1st pick in the draft, plus u lost ur best player in FA), but then had a rating of 23. anyway tom brady sucks scaly crocodile balls, and the raiders are lookin at another 5 - 11 year
yall need to quit being racists, yall know joey harrington dont have any chance of making the falcons any better, yall jus saying that cus yall dont wanna see a black QB lead a team, well bad news for yall its plenty of black QB’s in the NFL, yall better remember that we as in african americans support michale vick, hes like an icon to us,
