The Team's Not the Only Thing that Stinks

Thursday July 26, 2007
Old pipes in the city's water system are being blamed, according to AP reports, for the overflow of a 160,000 gallon toilet tank that sent a waterfall of raw sewage pouring into the Cleveland Browns' locker room recently, forcing the club to scramble to get the mess cleaned up before the open of this year's preseason schedule.

Obviously, conditions were not anywhere close to the magnitude suffered in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina when it ripped through New Orleans two years ago, so we probably won't classify this as a disaster. But it was a nasty mess nonetheless. And with the problems the Browns have had with Staph infections in the past, this is about the last thing they needed.

The team, for now, is in the process of replacing all the carpet, wood lockers and ceiling as they race to beat the clock.

I'm not really sure what the big hurry is, though. The Browns' locker room has been filled with crap for years.

What's a little more going to hurt?
