Sean Taylor Passes Away
For the second day in a row, the football world has awaken to sobering news that puts any reports of playoff races and undefeated seasons on the back burner. As has been reported by numerous media sources, Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died from injuries resulting from a gunshot wound suffered during a home invasion early Monday morning. He was just 24 years old.
According to a Miami Herald report, the standout defensive back died at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Tuesday morning, despite displaying what were considered encouraging signs Monday night.
Redskins owner Daniel Snyder released a statement on the team's website saying, "this is the worst imagineable (sic) tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sean's family."
At this time, there are no suspects in custody and there is still no word as to whether this was simply a robbery gone bad, or if the assailant(s) specifically targeted Taylor for some other reason.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Taylor family and the Redskins.

so sad.
My prayers go out to his friends and family. He was one of my favorite players. In terms of lost potential, this is the Safety equivalent of Bo Jackson. He could have been the best ever. I hope they catch the man who did it and cook him extra crispy.
this was a tragic situation being a 35 year old former player who did not make it.it means so much to some of us to see our young black youth make it knowing the hand that we were delt and this is not me trying to seperate the black race just trying to shed some light on the blaming of the so called white man. we are constantly disrupting our own community.we have to show love for one another so that the next generation will have a chance to live and accomplish some of the things mr.taylor accomplished in his short lived talented life.i want to send condolences out to the taylor family the redskins family because we lost a very bright and taletd individual.i am a die hard dallas fan but when black dies i feel it like its one of my own and the fact that he was able to make it out and to be taken away by the same thing that we as black men run from in the hood is a very sad thing.good luck to the next generation dereke
