Mock Draft Updated, Expanded to Four Rounds

Friday April 11, 2008
With just two weeks remaining until the 2008 NFL Draft gets underway, we've once again dusted off the mock draft, made a few tweaks here and there, and offered a few thoughts and theories on each team's line of thinking as they prepare for the pivotal day. We've also expanded the thing to include the first four rounds.

In this version, we continue in our belief that Virginia defensive end Chris Long, son of Hall of Famer Howie Long, will be the top pick. However, at this time the Miami Dolphins, who hold the top pick, are reportedly in negotiations with several other prospects, including LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, and Ohio State linebacker/defensive end Vernon Gholston.

As a die-hard Bears fan . . . I have to say that this mock is an absolute dream at least through the first 4 rounds. It would at least provide some depth (and hope given the sorry state of our offense) for those positions in need: OL, QB, RB, and WR . . .

As a life long “Die-hard” Bears fan, I truly hope that this mock draft stays just that, a mock. While Flacco and Jackson “might” be safe picks, picking Bredon Albert with the 14th pick would end up being a nothing more than a “reach”. And if the Bears ever take another Michigan WR, it will be again a “dumb” move. Manningham is nothing more than another “gloried” David Terrell.
