Packers' Options With Favre Limited

Friday July 11, 2008
If the rumors about quarterback Brett Favre wanting to come out of his brief retirement and return to the Green Bay Packers are true, he's putting the team in a difficult position. In fact, some (including many Packers fans) may view his decision as a selfish move. But at this point, I don't see where the team can do anything but welcome him back with open arms should he decide to return.

They basically have three options. Read more...

I for one have been a packer fan for 35 years. I would think that Ted Thomson would be smatter than this. I only can hope to see Brett in a viking uniform and have the opportunity to go to the wildcard game featuring the packers(9-7) and the vikings(10-6)and watch Brett totally destroy the packers defense ,…35-10,..with a qb rating of 150. And then watch the fans eat ted’s career. That guy is a LOSER!!!!!!

Packer Fan before I could walk. Brett is the greatest player in the sport, but this “itch” can only turn into a bad rash. GB can’t take him back. It was the perfect transition to A Rod. Trade to who for 12Mil? So Release is the only option. He has called out a few players in his time about being selffish and this will end bad for him. Viking? Bear? Buc? Are you kidding. In LA this is just bad MoJo.
Remember Javon? First game Broken leg out for the year MOJO? How long can Brett think he is indestructable? I just pray is doesn’t happen on MNF in Green Bay against the Vikings when he was suppose to be celebrated. Packers Fans will bleed for him and turn on the organization and the Vikings Fans would just snicker. Stay home Brett and get a gig at Southern Miss or do ESPN.

This is simple: Favre is the man. I think that he should stay retired. However, if he wants to come back he should be the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. I don’t see any other real choice for the team. He has left so much of himself on Lambeau Field over the years that cutting him or trading him is unthinkable.
