Ocho Cinco for life?
Chad Ocho Cinco. That's what Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson will legally be referred to if he gets his wish.
According to Profootballtalk.com, Johnson has taken the initial steps in Florida toward legally changing his name.
As Michael David Smith over at PFT points out, this could be a way for Johnson, who displayed extreme displeasure with his contract over the offseason, to pad his income. After all, sales of his new jersey would most likely be an instant success and players get a cut of the profits from those sales. It's also an avenue for him to get the NFL to let him wear a jersey with Ocho Cinco on the back. He was fined $5,000 for wearing a jersey with the moniker on it prior to a contest in 2006.
Personally, I believe it has more to do with grabbing a little more attention, which, along with catching a football, is what he does best.
