Preseason week 2 preview

All eyes will be on the New York Jets Saturday as Brett Favre makes his preseason debut for his new team in what promises to be the highlight of the weekend (not to mention a media spectacle, as well).

Speaking of Favre -- and heaven knows we can't do enough of that (eye roll) -- his new No. 4 New York Jets jersey has sold more than 125,000 units as of Tuesday, and is currently at the top of the NFL's top-25 best sellers among player jerseys. His No. 4 Green Bay Packers jersey currently sits at No. 2 on the list, marking the first time ever a player has had two jerseys in the top 25 at the same time.

While Favre will probably hog much of the media spotlight over the next few days (imagine that), there are some other interesting storylines to report.

• The Buffalo Bills will make the first of two trips to Toronto this year on Thursday when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The are scheduled to make a regular-season appearance there on December 7 against the Miami Dolphins.
• The Oakland Raiders contest with the Tennessee Titans Friday night will not only feature young quarterbacks JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young going toe to toe for the first 15 minutes or so, but it also will showcase two first-round running backs from the 2008 NFL Draft class in Darren McFadden and Chris Johnson.
• With the Jets absorbing much of the spotlight with their acquisition of Favre, it's easy to forget there's another team in New York. You know, the Giants? The team that won Super Bowl XLII back in February. They'll be returning to The Meadowlands for the first time since nearly upsetting the New England Patriots in the final week of last year's regular season.
