Pacman's Back, Man!

Thursday August 28, 2008
According to the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Cowboys cornerback and NFL bad boy Adam "Pacman" Jones has been reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell after serving more than 16 months on the sideline for a series of run-ins with law enforcement. Obviously this is good news for Jones, who could probably use a paycheck sometime soon.

For the Cowboys, though, this is great news. Jones adds a new dimension to a team that is already pretty darn good. He solidifies their secondary and adds some explosiveness to their return game. Of course, that's assuming he stays on the field and out of trouble.

The Cowboys have had success in turning around the careers of other misfits in recent years -- Terrell Owens, who bellyached his way out of San Francisco and Philadelphia along with defensive tackle Tank Johnson, who was dumped by the Chicago Bears for multiple legal infractions -- and the addition of Jones came at a minimal cost so that if, say, he finds himself behind bars by week four, the Cowboys aren't out much.

If he keeps his nose clean, though, it was well worth the risk.

On a side note.... isn't it ironic that Jones was sitting in a Hooters when he got the call considering much of his legal troubles originated in incidents in strip clubs?
