Fisher Thinks the Lions are Just Swell

Pay no attention to that 0-15 record sitting beside the Detroit Lions in the standings. It doesn't tell the whole story. I mean, this is a highly-talented team. Just ask cornerback Travis Fisher.

"I think we're going to shock a lot of people with a great game", he told reporters Friday. "I feel like we're going to win," he said. "Not to take anything away from Green Bay, but we're a great football team. I know the record doesn't show it, but I'm going to say it."

Now I know you want your players to be confident in themselves and their teammates, and display that in their comments to the media. But c'mon man. Your team sucks. Even if you beat the Packers on Sunday, your team still sucks. I wouldn't expect you to go on national television and announce that. But then again, I wouldn't expect any sane player on an 0-15 team to claim his team was great either.

I'll will give one thing to Fisher, though. The Lions are the best NFL team to ever lose their first 15 games.
