Fantasy Football Draft Tips

Thursday August 6, 2009
If you’re the average fantasy football player, perhaps you subscribe to the theory of loading up on running backs in the early rounds, and there is some merit to that line of thinking. After all, the running back position is the meat and potatoes of your lineup. But if you want an edge on your competition, it’s not as simple as taking a running back in each of the first two rounds, and a backup within the next three rounds with a QB or WR somewhere in between.

It’s not impossible to recover from a poor draft, but getting out of the gate with a strong team makes it that much simpler to compete for your league crown. Read more...

Great article, I’m pretty sure I won’t be loading up on RBs early. I’ve learned my lesson over the last couple of seasons.

There is a WORLD of sexy young talent at WR from rounds 7 thru 14 this year (in a 12 team draft). I’m loading up huge on RB’s, focusing hard on multiple Class of ‘08 studs like Kevin Smith, D McF, R Rice, Felix J, and Mendenhall.

Then I’ll gobble up guys like Hester, K Walter, L Moore, Josh Morgan, Ginn Jr, S. Rice, P Harvin, Steve Smith NYG, Dev Thomas, Miles Austin, and the Clev rookie Massaquoi(sp?)….

There’s also a lot of sexy young athletic TE’s this yr, too…Z Miller, Keller, Boss, Pettigrew, Jer Finley, Martellus Bennett…
