With Horn on Board, Vick Out of Excuses
Saying Vick has been inconsistent as a passer since joining the league is an understatement, but the fact that he has never had a real go-to receiver hasn't helped. At least that's what those in the Vick camp like to tell us on a regular basis. So now, not only does he have that proven veteran who can make the big plays in clutch situations, he has a guy who is willing to help the younger guys develop.
On the flip side though, Vick no longer has that crutch to lean on. The team has thrown top draft picks at the position in recent years, and even brought in Ashley Lelie last year (which wasn't exactly a huge success). But the inconsistencies in the passing game remained. With Horn on board, Vick is out of excuses. He either becomes the passer he claims he can be, or the Falcons start realizing the guy will never be more than a below-average QB who can hurt you with his legs from time to time.
You'll probably hear over the next few months how Horn is going to take some of the pressure off Vick, but in my view, his presence only adds to it. It's do or die time now. If Vick fails to improve now that he has that true No. 1 guy, it's just a matter of time before we finally see if the Falcons knew what they were doing in keeping backup Matt Schaub on the shelf when the opportunity to trade him presented itself over and over.

I think that vick will be able to throw the ball more, and complete more passes. Now he has 2 go to guys. He has Joe Horn, and he has Alge Crumpler. He can even give the to Roddy White and Micheal Jeking, if Joe Horn works with them enough. All they got to do is get there defence right snd they will be super bowl team.
Michael Vick was never full of excuses, Coach Mora wanted him to run, and the receiver didn’t have enough experience and never got enough exposure to the ball too. I’m very excited about all the changed Arthur Blank and Rich McKay have made, success is definitely guaranteed. Go Falcons and Michael Vick.
Vick has the legs of Barry Sanders, the arm strength of Brett Favre, but its the mentality of Ryan Leaf which is killing him.
michael vick is a huge talent. but only if that talent is to lose football games. the falcons have put guys around him and he still cant be a good nfl qb. the nfl is not the ncaa and thats the only place that vick can have success. the falcons need a pocket passer not another running back, thats what dunn and norwood are paid for. its time the falcons realize that vick will never be anything than what he has been.
I will never be an NFL QB that makes it to the super bowl. All I can do is run around and cry. I need to go back to college because I cant cut in the NFL!
