Appearing Wednesday on The Mike Tirico Show, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger fired a bit of a low blow at his Dallas Cowboys counterpart in Tony Romo regarding the whole overblown Jessica Simpson/trip to Mexico controversy that unfolded prior to the Cowboys' playoff loss back in January. Informed that the Cowboys would be coming to Heinz Field on December 7, Roethlisberger had this to say:

"I got to play at Dallas, I think it was my rookie year," he said. "I'm glad they're coming up here to play us. I'm thinking about sending an all-expenses paid trip for Tony (Romo) to go to Mexico."

Michelle Tafoya then asked, "I thought you were going to bring Jessica to you."

Roethlisberger quipped, "We could do that too. I might just fly her in."

Obviously Big Ben was joking, and too much will probably be made of his comments. But, hey, the weeks leading up to the draft are generally uneventful so this counts as news. And it's good to see the trash talk starting early this year.

Maybe Romo should respond by expressing his hope that Roethlisberger ride his motorcycle to the game?
