Favre a Backup? Rodgers in No-Win Situation

Reports surfaced over the weekend indicating that Brett Favre would be welcomed back by the Green Bay Packers, but only as the backup to Aaron Rodgers, who has been groomed all offseason for the starting role.
Can you imagine that? The future Hall of Famer carrying a clipboard for a guy who has never started an NFL game?

Brett is definitely not a jerk. He realizes how much he will miss the game. Case in point — Michael Jordan returning to basketball. Athletes love the game they play and want to return, but Joe Montana said it the best; you can’t go back, once you retire, that’s it.
