QB RB FB WR TE OT OG C - DE DT ILB OLB S CB - K P

Picks: 1-8 | 9-16 | 17-24 | 25-32

17. New York Jets - Chris "Beanie" Wells*, RB Ohio State
The combination of Thomas Jones and Leon Washington was effective in 2008, but Jones will be 31 this year and Wells would be a bargain this late in the first round. Jones obviously still has something left in the tank, but at his age it might be wise to bring in his successor because Washington isn't an every-down player.

18. Denver Broncos (from Chicago) - Malcolm Jenkins, CB Ohio State
The Broncos need a ton of help on defense and would be best served to go with the best defender available at this point.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Robert Ayers, DE Tennessee
A youth movement seems to be underway in Tampa, and the Buccaneers are interested in adding a pass rusher opposite Gaines Adams to build their defense around.

20. Detroit Lions (from Dallas) - Everette Brown*, DE/OLB Florida State
The Lions need a lot of help on the defensive side of the ball, and Brown might be the best pass rusher available. He might need to bulk up a little, though, if he is going to stay at defensive end in a 4-3 defense.

21. Philadelphia Eagles - Knowshon Moreno*, RB Georgia
The Eagles generally like to restock their lines early in the draft, but with Correl Buckhalter signing with Denver, the Eagles need someone to share the load with Brian Westbrook, who will be 30-years old when the season begins.

22. Minnesota - Peria Jerry, DT Mississippi
The Vikings need to begin planning for life without big Pat Williams, who is 36 years old. Plus, the team could be without both starting defensive tackles to begin the 2009 season pending the outcome of the Starcaps situation.

23. New England Patriots - James Laurinaitis, ILB Ohio State
Tedy Bruschi will be 36 in June, so who knows if he'll even be back this year. Another young linebacker who can play either on the inside or outside, along with last year's top pick Jerod Mayo, would give the Patriots some talented and versatile youth to rebuild around.

24. Atlanta Falcons - Fili Moala, DT USC
Finding a replacement for Grady Jackson at defensive tackle is a priority, and Moala is a viable option at this point. He has good size, strength and athletic ability, and may have worked his way into the first round with a good showing at the Senior Bowl.

Picks: 1-8 | 9-16 | 17-24 | 25-32
