Featured NFL Mock Draft - No.7

17. Cincinnati- DT- Vince Wilfork- Miami
Cincinnati could look to go with a corner here, but Wilfork is too good a talent to pass on. Their defensive tackles are average at best, so an infusion of talent would be a welcome sight. Watch for Marvin Lewis to whip Vince into shape and help him become the Sam Adams of the Bengals line.

18. New Orleans- LB- D.J. Williams- Miami
This is pretty much the consensus pick for the Saints. They need to add speed to their linebacking corps desperately. Williams is a great value pick at this point. He is lightning fast and can really lay some wood.

19. Minnesota- CB Chris Gamble Ohio State
Sitting at No.19, you usually don’t find a known talent like Gamble around. Minnesota makes a good investment in selecting Gamble here. While Gamble is not yet a finished product and shows some areas of concern, he is simply too good an athlete to pass up. In a few years, teams will probably be kicking themselves for passing on him.

20. Miami- QB- JP Losman- Tulane
Miami has a franchise running back, a solid defense, and a decent offensive line, but year-in and year-out they cant get the job done. While Fiedler has played admirably at times he is not a franchise quarterback (neither is Griese). Losman has the potential to be their man. While he doesn’t have the mystique of Marino coming out of college he does have a similar arm, and some of the same intangibles that made Marino one of the greatest ever.

21.Chicago- DT- Randy Starks- Maryland
The Bears trade down and still get the player they really wanted. Starks is exactly what the Bears need... a big defensive tackle who can demand double teams and keep blockers off Urlacher. Starks is also excellent at getting to the QB, which is imperative for the team that is last in the league in sacks.

Dallas trades the No.22 pick to Green Bay for the No.25 & No.88 overall and their 6th round pick.

22. Green Bay- DE- Kenechi Udeze- USC
Green Bay trades up to grab the top tier pass rusher they crave. I could easily see Udeze going much earlier than this, perhaps even in the top 10 when all is said and done. But if he lasts this long, he would be a perfect fit as he is adept at stopping the run as well as wreaking hovoc in the backfield. Udeze is a beast. His presence will take a lot of the pressure off of KGB and give Green Bay perhaps the best set of bookends in the league.

23. Seattle- DE- Antwan Odom- Alabama
Seattle needs a quality pass rusher for their aging defensive line, and Odom is one of the better ones in the draft. Odom has shown the ability to wreak havoc on the opposing quarterback, consistently applying pressure and making plays. He is also adept at stopping the run. He should be able to flourish being able to learn from one of the most feared sack artists of all time, John Randall.

24. Denver- CB- DeAngelo Hall- Virginia Tech
While it is no secret that Denver needs to address their defensive line, the need for a top flight CB is also a major one. When they are put in an enviable position in which they have their choice of any cornerback they want in the draft, they find it too hard to pass up. Hall’s biggest knock is his height, but at 5’11”, 200 pounds, he is as big as most cornerbacks playing. In a league that places a premium on speed, Hall is an F-16. While he is not the most polished defensive back, his speed and incredible strength more than makes up for it.
