Houston Texans (from Oakland) - Pick forfeited
The Houston Texans would have held the first pick in the second round, but they forfeited this pick by drafting running back Tony Hollings in the 2003 supplementary draft.

1. (33) Arizona Cardinals - Chris Perry, RB Michigan
Marcel Shipp emerged as the starter last season, but he lacks great speed, and Emmitt Smith is near the end of his career. The Cardinals should look for an upgrade on the first day of the draft.

2. (34) San Diego Chargers (from New York Giants in projected trade) - J.P. Losman, QB Tulane
Drew Brees has shown little since his rookie season to show that he can lead this team out of the pits of the NFL. Losman has good size (6-3, 220) and strength, a very strong arm, and one of the quickest releases in all of college football... certainly worth an early second-round pick.

3. (35) San Diego Chargers - Jacob Rogers, OT USC
After acquiring their franchise quarterback, the Chargers must pick up someone to protect his blind side. Rogers is the second-best true left tackle in the draft, he's technically sound, and he's still improving.

4. (36) Detroit Lions - Rashaun Woods, WR Oklahoma State
The Lions needs a No. 2 receiver to replace Bill Schroeder and allow Az-Zahir Hakim to return to the slot where he is better suited. Woods is among the most polished receivers in this draft and has a chance to make as much impact as any rookie receiver in 2004.

5. (37) Cleveland Browns - Sean Jones, S Georgia
The Browns really have no one at safety that is any more than adequate and they will likely address the position on the first day of the draft. Jones has good range and coverage ability, and he steps up nicely in run support.

6. (38) Atlanta Falcons - Michael Jenkins, WR Ohio State
Peerless Price struggled as the No. 1 receiver last year, so the Falcons are likely to use a first-day pick hoping to find a playmaker that can take some of the heat off him.

7. (39) Jacksonville Jaguars - Derrick Strait, CB Oklahoma
Rashean Mathis emerged as a starter last year, but the Jags need someone with solid cover skills to step into the other starting role. Fernando Bryant left via free agency, and none of the replacements brought in during the off-season are of starting caliber.
