2004 NFL Mock Draft - Round 2

By James Alder, About.com

QB RB FB WR TE OT OG C - DE DT ILB OLB S CB - K P

Round 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

16. (48) New Orleans Saints - Michael Boulware, OLB Florida State
The Saints need an overall upgrade at the linebacker positions and Boulware is the best one left on the board. He has the potential to make an impact on the weak side or at safety. He's strong, fast, and very agile. He's great at chasing a play down from behind, takes great angles in pursuit, and shows tremendous closing speed.

17. (49) Cincinnati Bengals - Donnell Washington, DT Clemson
Washington is the type of big defensive tackle that head coach Marvin Lewis likes to use to free up his linebackers. He has tremendous talent, but there are serious concerns about his work effort, which could make him a boom-or-bust type player.

18. (50) Minnesota Vikings - Derrick Hamilton, WR Clemson
The Vikings lack a true No. 2 receiver to take some of the double teams away from Randy Moss. Hamilton brings good size and speed to the position.

19. (51) Baltimore Ravens - Ernest Wilford, WR Virginia Tech
The Ravens need an offensive threat at wide receiver and while Wilford doesn't have blazing speed, he has great height and good hands.

20. (52) Dallas Cowboys - Chad Lavalais, DT LSU
After filling a huge need at running back in the first round, the Cowboys will turn their attention to the defensive line in the second or third... possibly both. Lavalais is a hard-nosed player and he plays with a lot of passion. At worst, he should end up being a solid player.

21. (53) Seattle Seahawks - Dontarrious Thomas, ILB Auburn
The Seahawks have had six different starters at middle linebacker in the last five years, and they would like to find a long-term solution. Thomas is undersized, but has the frame to bulk up.

22. (54) Denver Broncos - Teddy Lehman, OLB Oklahoma
John Mobley and Ian Gold are coming off season-ending injuries, and Gold has yet to be re-signed. Lehman has experience on the inside and outside, but is probably better suited as a starting weakside linebacker in the NFL.

23. (55) Green Bay Packers - Marquise Hill, DE LSU
The Packers need an every-down left defensive end to complement Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. Hill has the size to hold up to the run and could develop into an every-down lineman who rotates to defensive tackle on passing downs.
