Position:

40-Yard Dash:

Positives:
Ben Troupe is an athletic tight end in the mold of a Shannon Sharpe. He is a tremendous receiver who can stretch the field vertically. He has soft hands, nice size, and the ability to catch the ball in traffic. Runs very well for a player his size... makes nice cuts.
His 6-4 frame should be adequate enough for him to add a little more mass in the form of muscle without sacrificing too much speed. If he can develop into an effective run blocker, he'll be able to play every down in the NFL, making the offense he plays for much less predictable.
Negatives:
Troupe's blocking skills are decent and improving, but could still use some work. He also needs to add some strength to be effective in the running game and become more consistent in his route-running in the passing game.
Projection:
Ben Troupe is an interesting prospect that could provide an added offensive threat for a lot of teams at tight end. He will probably be picked up somewhere from the late-first to the mid-second round of the 2004 NFL Draft.
