Chris Gamble

By James Alder, About.com

Position:

Cornerback

School: Ohio State

Status: Junior

Height:

6-2

Weight:

180

40-Yard Dash:

4.45 (est)

Positives:

Chris Gamble has excellent size, speed, and overall athleticism. At just under 6-2 and with a 40" vertical leap, he should match up well with the big NFL receivers. He has the skills to be a shutdown corner. He has excellent ball skills, having seen plenty of playing time at wide receiver and kick returner. He also has strong work habits.

Negatives:

He is still a bit raw and needs to polish his technique somewhat, but with his size and athletic ability, his upside is unlimited. He was used in a lot of different roles at Ohio State, and never had the chance to really focus on one position. He's not a real physical defender and could stand to add a little strength and work on his tackling skills.

Projection:

Chris Gamble looks to me to be a mid first-round pick, and could be the first cornerback selected overall.
