Jacob Rogers

By James Alder, About.com

Position:

Offensive Tackle

School: USC

Status: Senior

Height:

6-5½

Weight:

305

40-Yard Dash:

5.28 seconds

Positives:

Jacob Rogers is probably the second-best true left tackle in the draft. He's technically sound and still improving. He's light on his feet and uses his hands well. He also has good quickness and decent strength. He doesn't have the upside of a Robert Gallery, but he is one of the most polished left tackles in the draft. His experience in USC's pro-style offense should help his development in the NFL.

Negatives:

Rogers seems to handle speed rushers well, but struggles against power rushers, often getting bull-rushed into his quarterback. He needs to work on his run blocking and could stand to add more overall strength, especially in the lower body.

Projection:

Jacob Rogers has the skills to be a solid left tackle in the NFL and he will most likely be selected sometime in either the late-first or early-second round of the 2004 draft.
