NFL Draft - Sleepers & Busts
Guide picks
Who are the top sleepers in the NFL Draft this season, and which player will be the next big bust? These players listed below are the players I feel are the most overrated and underrated in this year's NFL Draft.

Underrated - Nate Burleson, WR Nevada
Burleson led the nation in receiving with 138 catches. He doesn't have great size, but he put up nice numbers at the combine and may have positioned himself to be picked on the first day of the draft. I believe he will be selected in the third round, but he could produce like a first rounder in the NFL.

Overrated - Justin Fargas, RB USC
Fargas really helped his draft status by ripping off a pair of sub-4.4 forties at the NFL Scouting Combine. He has good strength, quickness, and vision, and he hits the hole as hard as anyone in the draft. The biggest concern with Fargas is his inability to remain healthy. He's a workout warrior, but I don't think he's worth more than a late-second round pick.

Overrated - Larry Johnson, RB Penn State
Rushed for over 2,000 yards and averaged over seven yards per carry in 2002 and has a chance to be a solid back at the next level, but I don't see him as a superstar. Larry Johnson will probably be picked in the mid-to-late first round, but I don't think he's worth more than a second.

Overrated - Kareem Kelly, WR USC
Has very good speed, but his hands are questionable. I've seen him projected to go anywhere from the third to the sixth round, but I tend to think the latter is more appropriate for Kelly.

Underrated - Kassim Osgood, WR San Diego State
Good size (nearly 6'5") and quickness, but ran just a 4.69 forty at the combine, which will cause him to fall further than he should. I think he's a solid third-round pick, but I don't see him being selected until at least the fourth.

Underrated - Tony Pashos, OT Illinois
Pashos is not real athletic, but he has incredible strength. He is an excellent pass and run blocker, and he plays with a lot of intensity. Should be a steal in the third round.

Overrated - Kenny Peterson, DT Ohio State
Peterson has good quickness and power, but lacks the size to play inside and the speed to play end in the NFL. Could sneak into the first round, but I would be a little hesitant to use a first round pick on this guy.

Overrated - Cory Redding, DE Texas
Can cause a lot of havoc on the field, but is inconsistent. Came on strong in the second half of the season. I have seen Redding projected to go as early as the late-first round, but I feel it would be a mistake for anyone to take him until late in the second.

Underrated - Tony Romo, QB Eastern Illinois
Tony Romo is the best quarterback in Division I-AA football. Has good arm strength and a very quick release. Moves well in the pocket, but not a scrambler. He probably won't be selected until the fifth or sixth round, but I think he has the ability to be a solid NFL starter.

Underrated - Musa Smith, RB Georgia
Musa Smith has battled injuries, and could be the best back to come out of this draft if he can avoid them in the future. He has good size and athleticism, with enough speed to get outside. A reliable receiver out of the backfield. Injury concerns could keep him on the board until the third round, at which point he would be a steal.
