Michael Vick rallied the Atlanta Falcons from 17 points down in the fourth quarter, and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox passed for a franchise-record 473 yards only to have the game end in a 34-34 tie. Plexico Burress also set a Steelers record with 253 yards on nine catches, including two touchdowns. It was the NFL's first tie in five years.

A 10-yard scoring pass from David Carr to Jarrod Baxter with 3:05 left brought the Texans to within a touchdown of the Titans, but a Lance Schulters interception with 1:11 left sealed the win for Tennessee.

Two extra points and two field goals botched by the Giants nearly cost them the game, but an 8-yard touchdown run by Tiki Barber with 2:43 remaining gave the Giants the win. Michael Bennett rushed 15 times for a career-high 167 yards, including a 78-yard burst that put the Vikings ahead late in the fourth quarter.

Aaron Brooks completed a 95-yard fourth-quarter drive by throwing a 7-yard touchdown pass to Donte' Stallworth with 31 seconds left, giving the New Orleans Saints' a 34-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Charles Grant sealed the win by returning a Rodney Peete fumble 34 yards for the score as time ran out.

Jon Kitna went 28-for-42 for 272 yards with two touchdowns, and Corey Dillon ran for 102 yards, but the Bengals fell short again, losing to the Ravens, 38-27. Lamont Brightful sparked the Ravens with a 95-yard punt return for a touchdown and Adalius Thomas scored on a 25-yard interception return.

Marc Bulger set a team record with 36 completions, good for 453 yards, the fourth-most in franchise history. Although he fumble twice, Isaac Bruce caught 10 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns, including the 7-yard game-winner with 1:14 to play. Marshall Faulk left during the fourth quarter with a sprained left ankle. He was held to just 72 total yards and had a costly fumble at the end of the first half.

Peyton Manning threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, and James Mungro ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Colts to a surprising 35-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers took a five-game lead in the NFC North by routing the second-place Detroit Lions, 40-14. Brett Favre completed 26-of-39 passes and had 295 yards passing by halftime, a career-best.

Shane Matthews threw 50 times for 256 yards, but after a 77-yard touchdown drive to open the game, the Redskins were held scoreless the rest of the way by the Jaguars defense. Mark Brunell threw for 194 yards and Fred Taylor ran for 82 yards and a touchdown, helping the Jaguars break a four-game losing streak.

San Francisco's defense kept Priest Holmes in check, holding him to just 51 yards rushing and one reception. Tight end Tony Gonzalez was also shut down, catching just one pass for 6 yards as the 49ers beat the Kansas City Chiefs for their sixth victory in seven games.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 23-of-31 passes for 260 yards and Koren Robinson caught seven passes for 96 yards and gained another 20 on an end-around as the Seahawks controlled this contest from the opening kickoff. Arizona rookie Jason McAddley, starting in place of injured David Boston, caught five passes for 113 yards in just his second NFL game.

Tom Brady completed 36-of-55 passes for 328 yards, leading the New England Patriots back from a 21-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Chicago Bears, 33-30. Brady found David Patten in the back of the end zone with 21 seconds remaining to cap the comeback.

The New York Jets handed the Miami Dolphins their third straight loss on John Hall's 28-yard field goal with 2:17 remaining. Ricky Williams was held to just 53 yards on 20 carries and cost the Dolphins a chance to score in the third quarter when he fumbled on the Jets 2-yard line.
