LaVar Arrington stripped the football from Kurt Warner with 17 seconds remaining on the Redskins' 6-yard line, preserving a 20-17 victory and ending the St. Louis Rams' five-game winning streak. Stephen Davis rushed for 88 yards on 13 carries and scored all three of Washington's touchdowns.

Curtis Martin rushed for 120 yards and a score, and the New York defense allowed 14 points or less for the fifth time in six games as the Jets extended their winning streak to four games with a 31-13 victory over the Bills. Chad Pennington threw for just 178 yards, but was mistake-free and scored on a one-yard touchdown run on a 4th-and-goal at the Buffalo one-yard line.

Michael Vick threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns, Warrick Dunn added two touchdowns on the ground, and the Falcons' defense had four interceptions and recovered two fumbles as Atlanta dominated the Panthers, 41-0. Carolina was shut out 30-0 in the the first meeting between these two teams this season.

With first-and-goal from the five-yard line in the final minute of the game, Jon Kitna threw four incomplete passes, allowing the Pittsburgh Steelers to escape with a 29-21 victory. Kordell Stewart, who filled in for the injured Tommy Maddox, was 22-of-26 for 236 yards and one touchdown.

The Patriots scored touchdowns on each of their first three possessions, and then withstood a second-half comeback for a 24-17 victory over the Vikings, who have not won a road game in their last 16 attempts. Tom Brady increased his league-leading total of touchdown passes to 24.

Tim Couch completed 12-of-21 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown, and William Green ran for a season-high 114 yards and a score as the Browns defense kept Aaron Brooks off balance all day. Brooks was 23-of-40 for 318 yards, but he threw three interceptions, two in scoring position, and also fumbled to squander another scoring opportunity.

Chad Hutchinson threw for 301 yards and completed two touchdown passes to Joey Galloway, who caught seven passes for 144 yards. Emmitt Smith ran 20 times for 73 yards and a touchdown as the Cowboys slipped by the Jaguars, 21-19.

Ricky Williams rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and the Dolphins defense held LaDainian Tomlinson to just 45 yards on the ground as Miami rolled to a 30-3 rout of the Chargers. Quarterback Ray Lucas played mistake-free football for the second week in a row and threw for 194 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to James McKnight.

Baltimore safety Ed Reed scored the only touchdown of the game after blocking a punt and returning it 11 yards in the first quarter. The Ravens defense forced Steve McNair into three interceptions and a fumble as they ground out a 13-12 victory.

Paul Edinger kicked a 40-yard field goal 6:02 into overtime as the Bears rallied from a 10-point deficit to snap an eight-game losing streak. After winning the coin toss to start the extra period, Lions' head coach Marty Mornhinweg elected to kick the ball away and force the Bears to play into a strong wind. But the move backfired as the Bears marched down the field for the winning score.

Matt Hasselbeck threw for a career-high 362 yards and three touchdowns, and Shaun Alexander ran for 145 yards on 23 carries, including a 46-yard touchdown that made it 39-25 with 1:52 remaining. Kansas City's Priest Holmes ran for 197 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries and caught seven passes for 110 yards.

For the second week in a row, Brett Favre had a rough afternoon. This week he was 20-of-38 for 196 yards, but was intercepted four times, twice by cornerback Brian Kelly. Ahman Green was held to just 56 yards on the ground on 18 carries.

Kris Brown kicked two field goals, including a 50-yarder with 6:57 to play that lifted the Texans to a 16-14 upset of the Giants Sunday.
