Most Valuable Player/Player of the Year
The NFL began awarding the Joe F. Carr Trophy (Carr was league president from 1921-39) to the league's most valuable player in 1938, and continued to do so until 1946. Since that time, the NFL's Most Valuable Players and Players of the Year have been named by a variety of sources including some of the top football publications!

This award was presented by the United Press to the top player in the AFL from 1960-1969. After the merger with the NFL, the award was presented to the best player in the AFC until 1996!

NFC Player of the Year
The United Press honored the NFC Player of the Year from 1970 to 1996!

NFL Rookie of the Year
All the best newcomers each season!

AFL/AFC Rookie of the Year
Presented by the UPI to the top rookie in the AFL and AFC!

NFL/NFC Rookie of the Year
Presented by the UPI to the top rookie in the NFC!

NFL Assistant Coach of the Year
The assistant coaches were selected by "Pro Football Weekly" from 1993-1998!

Golden Toe Award
